The atmosphere of this café is probably one the most attention-grabbing of its kind—including floor to ceiling glass that disappears when the weather permits and transforms to bring the outdoors inside, and a lobby bar that morphs into an espresso bar, then into a full service soda fountain, and finally into a community table. The food, although classic, American home-style favorites, is just as unique. In addition to having what it claims as “best breakfast in town”, Café Zuzu’s lunch and dinner specialties include Beef Stroganoff, Chicken & Dumplings and Braised Short Ribs. Everything is made from scratch: eggs are organic, jams and jellies come from local harvesters and produce is delivered fresh from the Valleys’ Duncan Farms. Desserts are a distinct feature of ZuZu; homemade pies including Lemon Meringue and Deep Dish Apple, malts, shakes and ice cream specialties are served from the exhibition soda fountain. The dining room is designed to transition seamlessly from breakfast to lunch to dinner and is open continuously from 6:00 am – 10pm (Sun – Thur) and 6am - 11pm (Fri-Sat).
Café Zuzu does not lack in distinctive and original special events to offer Scottsdale diners either—to celebrate the cuisine of ZuZu and to recognize the bounty from ZuZu’s special purveyors, Chef Wiley hosts “Monday Night Chef’s Table”. Three course meals are paired with wines and offer a chance to taste -- and discuss with the chef -- the food ZuZu is fast becoming known for. Started in September, Monday Night Chef’s Table is held every Monday and will continue through next year. Check our “Special Events” section for more details on the latest, upcoming Monday Night Chef’s Table dinner choices.
